Digital Lenses
Digital lenses are created using advanced computer technology to create an incredibly sharp and precise image, offering those wearing eyeglasses a whole new level of vision experience - much like purchasing a 4K high-definition television.
Digital lenses can be single vision, multifocal or progressive with no notable line between different prescription optical zones, unlike bifocal lenses. They can also be made in very thin and light materials, even if you have a stronger prescription.
Should You Choose Digital Lenses?
While you may not be able to have a say in whether you need single vision lenses or multifocal lenses as these are based on the results of your eye exam with your optometrist, you can choose to have your prescription made into digital lenses. Benefits of choosing digital lenses include:
- Easily customised: digital lenses are designed using advanced computer technology that takes into account the wearer's unique prescription and vision needs, as well as the specific curvature and shape of their lens. This allows for a highly customised lens that provides optimal vision correction for each individual wearer. Additionally, digital lenses are compatible with our wide range of lens coatings and other features, such as a blue light filter to improve their performance when you’re working in the office or outdoors.
- Seamless vision correction: digital lenses use a gradual transition between the different lens powers, instead of a visible line that may disrupt your vision. This provides a more natural and seamless vision correction experience, with no visible lines or "jump" between the distance and near vision areas.
- Improved peripheral vision: digital lenses often have wider fields of view than traditional bifocal lenses, where the clearest vision tends to be in the centre of the lens. This means that your digital lenses can provide better peripheral vision, with benefits like lowering your risk of tripping or falling due to poor peripheral vision.
- Reduced eye strain and fatigue: digital lenses may help reduce eye strain and fatigue, particularly when using digital devices such as computers or smartphones for extended periods of time. This is because they are designed to provide clear vision across the entire lens surface, minimising the need for eye adjustments and reducing eye strain.
