Bulk Billed Eye Examination
As optometrists and eye care professionals that are registered with Medicare, Kevin Paisley is proud to offer bulk-billed eye tests for those that are eligible. This includes one eye test every year for those aged over 65 years, and one eye exam every three years for those aged under 65 years.
Eye tests with qualified eye care providers are recommended every 1-2 years in Australia, depending on your age. You don’t need to be experiencing vision or eye health problems to benefit from an eye test. Eye examinations help to:
- Detect vision changes and problems, ranging from farsightedness to a loss in your ability to focus on nearby objects. With early detection, you can take immediate action to help you get the best outcomes.
- Detect eye diseases, such as cataracts or age-related macular degeneration, which can cause vision loss or blindness if left untreated. Your eye exam allows for early detection, so you can take prompt action.
- Monitor prescription changes. As we age and our medical circumstances change, so can our vision and therefore our prescription needs for our glasses or contact lenses. Your regular eye exam helps you detect these changes, so you’re always using the best-suited prescription to help you get the most from your vision.
- Identify potential underlying health issues. Eye exams can also be a powerful tool in uncovering the early signs of health problems like diabetes, high blood pressure and certain neurological conditions.
